The Peace Tax Seven

How To Support Us
We need your help to spread awareness and raise resources for this landmark case. We believe that we have a strong case in law and a new opportunity to challenge an entrenched system. But we face personal liability for costs of up to £70,000, besides running costs for the appeal. We also want to use this opportunity to build support around the world and develop awareness, among the general public, that we all fund death, carnage and destruction.

You can help by:

1 - Spreading the word
Informing your friends, family, mosque, synagogue, temple, church, peace group or other campaigning group about the case.

Downloading, copying and distributing our leaflet

Ordering a postal delivery of leaflets (please state number) by emailing us or using the appeal form

Telling your peace organisation, church, mosque, synagogue, temple, trade union, etc., and asking for their endorsement and active support - fundraising events, publicity, etc. Coordinated action demonstrates the strength of the whole peace movement and brings more pressure to bear.

Asking us to come and talk to a meeting. Members of the PEACE TAX SEVEN are prepared to travel anywhere in the UK to talk to groups about the peace tax issue and their campaign. This would be, usually, one member to come and talk, charging expenses only. Venues abroad, please enquire.

Writing to your MP expressing your support, and asking her/him to support our case, and the parliamentary work of conscience - the Peace Tax Campaign.

Buying our printed t-shirt, badges and cards.

2 - Sending us a message of support
Signing our online petition.
This is an ongoing petition which will be presented as appropriate to the judge of our human rights case, Gordon Brown (or whoever is Chancellor of the Exchequer at the time), parliament etc.

6 - Joining conscience - the Peace Tax Campaign
Join conscience and add your voice to the ongoing campaign for the right to redirect the military proportion of your tax towards peace building work.

Conscence is a lobbying organisation which works directly with politicians and government to change the law and institute a peace fund.
It is one of the organisations constituting the Peace and Security Liason Group - a government lobby group.
It enjoys the support of approximately 80 MPs and 20 MEPs.
It needs your support, because the more members it has, the more influence it can have on government policy.
And when we win our human rights case, Conscience will be key in pursuading to MPs to back a change in the law.
